A note from the owner:
“Hello! I am Danielle, owner and creator of Pieces To Peaces. I make handmade, high- quality headbands, beanies, ear warmers, and other goodies. I am a PNW transplant, a mama to a beautiful little girl, and possibly a mermaid! I have always enjoyed bright colors, expressive prints, and sewing PLUS I am a headband addict!
My small business started when I was a single mom with a very small baby. I was (and still!) shocked by how much everyone wanted & loved my headbands that I created. Since then we have moved to Olympia, WA which we proudly call home, hired several seamstresses, and are full time at many markets including the Olympia Farmers Market. You will also find our products in many shops (yes! we do wholesale) and at various trade shows or festivals in the PNW!
Remember when you purchase from me, it directly impacts my family and the many local women that work for me!”
Pieces to Peaces has been one of my ultimate favorites for both humans AND dogs. I first came across this company at the Fremont Solstice Parade. I will never forget how excited my sister and I were when we felt the amazing, soft fabric of the headbands, and I was overjoyed discovering that the headbands had matching pet bandanas. Since discovering Pieces to Peaces, I can’t stop buying new products and advertising to everyone about the quality. If you haven’t started the bandana game for your pet yet, now is the time. PLUS how fun is it to be able to match your pet too in the process?

Ruff Bar Story:
“The inspiration to create RUFF BARs came out of a desire for an easy to carry, nutritionally appropriate food bar for our dogs while on the trail hiking and backpacking. Most dog snacks or on-the-go meals on the market today are heavily based on cheap fillers like potatoes, oats, legumes and beans such as chickpeas, lentils and peanuts. Those kinds of foods are alright for omnivorous humans to eat but not healthy for your carnivorous canine pal to ingest on a regular basis.
With the assistance of a Veterinarian and a Naturopathic Doctor we created a bar composed of top notch ingredients that not only fulfills your pup’s nutritional requirements, but is quick and convenient too. We believe that your dog should get the very best so we use only grass fed-no antibiotic-no hormone beef and organic ingredients. Dogs are natural carnivores so don’t compromise. Give them the very best with Ruff bars. Every bar is hand made in Clearview Washington.”
Ruff Bars are a must for Susie’s active lifestyle. The ingredients are natural with no preservatives, and are packed full of nutrients enough to be sustainable as a meal replacement bar or a delicious treat! There are several different flavors including turkey, beef, salmon and venison, but Susie’s favorite has been the classic beef. Interested in trying them out? A note from the owner Chareena:
“Puptown Threads began when I first made bandanas for my sister’s dog and friend’s cat. I had a lot of fun designing and testing out patterns that would work best and shopping for the fabrics. Before I knew it, I was posting my first listing on my Etsy shop!
From then, my passion to make unique and adorable products for pets grew immensely. My goal for Puptown Threads is to eventually make it my full time job and be able to put more time into the business. I love what I do because I get to embrace my love for making pets something to show how special they are.”
Are you looking for the latest style for your urban pup? Susie and I LOVE PupTown Threads especially for their unique and “fandom” style bandanas- styled like Harry Potter, Stranger Things, different comics and popular rappers. You can customize the bandanas with words too to make it even more unique! These bandanas are great quality, double sided and come in different sizes with snap buttons. But the best part about it is that it comes locally from Seattle.

“What do I want to be when I grow up?
Initially, when asked that question, I wasn’t sure how to answer it. All I knew was that I wanted a career that would let me spend more time with my dog, Kora.
I can now proudly say I am doing what I wanted to do when I grew up: I’m the head chef and owner of my own dog bakery. At its start, Puddles was all about my dog. Now, it’s about bringing the same love to yours, in the form of tasty, nutritious dog treats. Each recipe is tested and approved by Kora, and all the ingredients are ones you’d find in your own pantry. Because here at Puddles, it’s all about the dog.”Check out the full story on their website!
Puddles Barkery is one of my favorites PLUS they are located right in Ballard! All their treats are made with local and organically sourced ingredients. Try out a sampler pack or load up on Susie’s tasty favorite- the Bakin’ bites. They will also customize birthday cakes for your extra special pup.

“Voff Bark & Brew is a bar made for dogs by dog people.
Pups of all ages are able to roam free, whether they choose to stay in the comfortable, sports-bar style interior or venture outside to the generous wrap-around cedar bark-lined yard.
With over 25 beers, wines, and ciders on tap as well as Trivia Tuesdays, outdoor movies, all major sports on TV, and pools for the pups to splash around in, there’s something for everyone at Voff!”
Now I know this isn’t a “shop” per say, but I’ve got to do a shout out about Susie’s favorite spot. Do you find yourself getting home from work exhausted but you’ve got a CRAZY dog that just needs to run but you just want to relax and drink a beer? Dog parks can be hard to get to when it’s dark when you leave for work, and dark already when you are coming home to play with your pup. Susie is quite the handful unless I get her out to run around. Voff gives me that opportunity to let Susie go HAM while I relax and hang around dog enthusiasts like myself. If you haven’t checked out this place already, I highly recommend it. Plus, you know you want a picture next to the iconic red fire hydrant! Check out their website and let me know what you think!
